Jason Sadler I thought I would be let down by this album. I was wrong. Very wrong. It's thick, luscious and repeatedly melts my face. I should have listened before buying the digital version because now I'm going to go buy it on vinyl with a shirt too. You take my money and buy little gloves for your BirdHands! Thank you. Favorite track: Nein.

about

Upon this day, we kill the fatted calf together. We feast on the body. We drink it's blood and it nourishes us. Together, we stand, spent and yet poised ready for more. We pose for photos with one foot upon the body, holding his expired head aloft for the paparazzi to clean the carcass before the flies get to it.

This fatted calf is a creation from the loins of Ian Prince and Allen Epley as they attempt to redefine the word "music" and even the word "word" with melodies far too challenging for the naked ear and rhythms much too sultry for the average libido, for each would render the listener aquiver.

Alas, we MUST set this once-galloping beast free! Rise!! Free to run asunder through our fragile psyches; through our troubled lust-filled dreams; through the pastures of our sun-dappled childhood memories, conjuring the aroma of hot asphalt and creosote and Laffy Taffy.

Now, many many lifetimes later, lay beaten down and destroyed the corpses of rebels and blood drenched streets. We step gingerly around these corpses and puddles to give birth to this creation and deliver it promptly to your soul for further consumption. Amen.

about

BirdHands Chicago, Illinois

Allen Epley is the singer/songwriter/
guitarist for Shiner and The Life and Times. Ian Prince is the drummer for Porcupine, Story Of The Sea, and Houston. These two friends created a virtual neural handshake a couple years ago to undertake this endeavor. What came out was much more than the sum of its parts. Its a kind of stream of consciousness music that induces trance-like reactions. enjoy! ... more
